You are here for a purpose
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands. Psalm 138:8
Each week our team meets, plans, and prays together. It is one of my favorite things we do in the office each week. During our team time, we also ask one of our staff to share a devotional thought. This past week, Sarah Teasdale, shared and gave our team a few statements to consider. I thought these were powerful and I wanted to share here.
- Your life means more than the temporary.
- You live at this point in history for a reason.
- Your existence is no mistake.
- You are here for a purpose, to fulfill your God-given role.
While Sarah shared these statements with our staff, I was reminded that this is also our hope for each child we serve. Our greatest desire for our kids is that they would know their Creator, the One who gave His life for them, and that they would live out the purpose He has for their lives.
Ultimately, for our kids around the world, and for each of us as Christ followers, all of our lives are meant to bring glory to Him and point to His finished work accomplished through Jesus on the cross. As a reminder and encouragement for you today — may we live with the confidence and assurance that our God has put us at this point in history for a reason, that our existence is absolutely no mistake, and that we are here to make much of Jesus in all areas of our lives.
