Thank You Cornerstone Christian Academy!
Cornerstone Christian Academy second grade students topped off their school’s huge Valentine fundraiser by presenting a $2,000 check to the 25 Project!
Jennifer Thomas, a parent and volunteer at Cornerstone in McKinney, Texas, challenged the kids to think globally in helping others this Valentine’s Day. Having heard of a need through the 25 Project for books and Bibles, Jennifer decided to challenge her child’s second grade class to “think worldwide” and help outside their circle of influence.
This challenge quickly spread to the whole school and a goal was set of $500. IF they could raise $400, Headmaster Dr. Jeff Guleserian promised the students 3 days of “free dress,” no uniforms! If they could raise $700, he would up the free dress days to 6, as well as an ice cream party for the lower grades. The students came through, raising $2,000 to help children in the Dominican Republic and Sierra Leone.
The 25 Project team would like to thank the students and staff of Cornerstone Christian Academy for going above and beyond to help children around the world know the love of Christ!
