Elizabeth Herrera

Elizabeth Herrera was born in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. She currently lives in Los Alcarrizos city near Batey Lechería and Villa Laura, two villages where she leads a children and youth ministry. Elizabeth has one son, Brayton.

Elizabeth was not raised up in a Christian family, but her
father was a very charitable and giving person who modeled this well for her. Her passion for helping and sharing with others was developed during her childhood.

She accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 30. Elizabeth had many struggles and sad situations in her life. She never imagined working with children and youth, but God’s plan for her was to do just this. Now Elizabeth can’t see herself doing anything other than answering God’s call for her life to work with children and youth.

Since 2011 Elizabeth has served as vice president of a non-profit organization in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Mitirescri. Elizabeth considers herself incredibly blessed to be able to share the word of God with many children and youth, in addition to taking care of underprivileged children in her own community.

One of Elizabeth’s favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 54:6 “The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit—a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God. “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.
