MELISSA COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Melissa, TX USA
While the 25 Project seeks to help children around the world, we also desire to engage and serve children in need in our local community. The Melissa Community Outreach (MCO)has provided an opportunity for the 25 Project to come alongside their organization to help give structure and support, as well as to expand their existing ministry to reach lower income children and families with discipleship opportunities.
We hope to not only meet the communities’ physical needs through the existing food pantry ministry, but also to provide family events, educational classes, and a youth program to help the community thrive as we share the hope of the Gospel of Christ. We are excited by the ways God has already used MCO, and we are eager to see all the ways He will further use this ministry to bless the community of Melissa in the coming days.
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”
Our History
The Melissa Community Outreach (MCO) is a local food pantry program that provides food and coats to families who have found themselves in crisis. When MCO was launched, Matthew 25:35 was the guiding verse, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”
Today, Lacie Rose, serves as the 25 Project Director of MCO. She has excitement, experience, and a passion for reaching children for Christ.
Our Clients
MCO clients receive food and coats at no charge because of the generosity of our neighbors. Our clients live in Melissa, Anna, Blue Ridge, Van Alstyne, McKinney and other surrounding areas of North Texas. MCO is completely staffed by volunteers and committed to serving each one of our neighbors in need.
