Khushi’s Sanctuary: From Neglect to a Life of Hope

In South Asia, a 9-year-old girl named Khushi is discovering, for the first time, what it means to be truly safe. After 111 days of waiting for a sponsor, she is ready for a new chapter, the one defined by the love of Christ rather than the pain of her past.

Khushi comes from a Hindu family where life was overshadowed by her father’s struggle with alcoholism. Because of his addiction, he was unable to provide for his family, leaving Khushi to endure a heartbreaking reality of neglect and abuse.

A Place of Mercy

Today, Khushi’s story has taken a turn toward healing. She now lives in the Mercy Homes, a place where she is protected, nourished, and kept safe from the environment she once knew.

In this new environment, Khushi is finally free to be a child again. She spends her free time playing with friends, her laughter a testament to the resilience of a young heart that has found a place to belong.

But to continue this journey of transformation, she needs a team to stand behind her.

Learning a New Language of Love

In the classroom, Khushi is a dedicated student with a particular love for the English language. Her favorite color is pink, and when she thinks about what she wants to be when she grows up, she doesn’t hesitate: she wants to be a teacher.

Having experienced the impact of local leaders stepping into her own life, she dreams of one day standing at the front of a classroom to guide and inspire other children.

Discipleship and Care

Because the cost of education is significantly higher in her region of South Asia, Khushi has the unique opportunity to be supported by up to three sponsors. At $39 a month per “third” sponsorship, you can become a vital part of her support system.

Sponsorship for Khushi goes beyond just physical needs. While it ensures she has access to nutritious meals, clean drinking water, and basic medical care, its greatest impact is spiritual. It gives Khushi the opportunity to be discipled and to grow in a vibrant, transforming relationship with Jesus, learning that she has a Heavenly Father who will never leave her.

Will you step into Khushi’s story and help her grow into the teacher she dreams of becoming?
